Halls Head Primary School was presented with a framed ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ from Mandurah’s University of the Third Age (U3A) on Thursday 16th November 2017, at a school assembly by David Smeeton and Sheila Twine.
Students from the art department, under the guidance of teacher Mrs Sonia Doyle had made models of Thrombolites, indigenous Mia-Mias and bridges through the ages, to depict important aspects of Mandurah’s history. These were placed by students on an enormous floor map of Mandurah and its Estuary to show the city’s gradual development. The quality of student work and their commitment to this local history project was outstanding.
