In July 2015, Mandurah U3A was invited by the Norfolk Island U3A to visit their historic and scenic island.
Nine of our members made the trip and enjoyed hospitality and presentations by Norfolk Island members. We showed them a video of Mandurah and Christine Norman gave a power point of a recent visit of our U3A to Prague. We all soaked up the stories of the historic penal settlement and the Mutiny on the Bounty tales. We enjoyed the spectacular views of cliffs, reefs, beaches, pines and off shore islands. We walked through botanic gardens and tramped through rain forests, then gorged on bananas and avocados growing outside our units. We even made the local paper with a photo and an article.
Members attending were: Dee Squires (organiser of the trip) Jo and Alan Kreibich, Valma and Ray Francis, Christine Norman, Pat Bentley, Rita Madden and Sheila Twine.
